Amazon Spirit: Long Island Fly Fishing Guides Chase Peacock Bass In Brazil

In November 2024 Long Island Fly Fishing guides Capt. Brendan McCarthy &Capt. Paul Dixon lead a group of anglers into the Amazon from the Brazilian town of Manaus with the goal of chasing Peacock Bass.

The adventure was organized under the leadership of Amazon Spirit, a newly formed Brazilian tour group with a mothership deep in the Amazon jungle.

This video shares a story of how the group approached the beached vessel and spent 6 nights and 7 days fishing in the jungle, a drought has impacted every aspect of the groups experience. Learning about the jungle, its wildlife and habits of the jungle communities are some of the best take aways from the trip.
